RETURN TO FOREVER IV
Unique and the only such concert in Poland.
Band was founded in 1972 and was created by Chick Corea, Joe Farell , Stanley Clarke ,
Airto Moreira and Flora Purim. Their debut came with the album "Return to Forever" (1972, ECM), and its repertoire included two hits by
Core'a: Crystal Silence and La Fiesta. Another album "Light as a Feather" (1973, Polydor), gained even greater popularity probably thanks to
the most famous subject of Core'a - Spain.
Second makeup of RTF worked in the years 1973-76. New musicians played in this band,
among them there were: guitar player
Bill Connors (substituted in 1974 by young Ala Di Meolê) and drummers - Steve Gadd and Lenny White. Those days new albums appeared :
"Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy" (1973), "Where Have I Know You Before" (1974), "No Mystery" (1975), "Romantic Warrior" (1976).
After many years and cooperation periods with some band members, Corea decided
to renew RTF in 2008. In the third makeup partners from the old times met each other again: Corea, Clarke, Di Meola and White; band
went for world tour née gaining applause and recognition from the critics.
In the latest project RTF IV there are musicians from the previous makeup
taking part, the only change is in case of Ala Di Meoli who is substituted by a superb guitar player Frank Gambale. This band was
also strengthened by violin virtuoso and a star of fusion music l. 70. Jean-Luc Ponty. In February 2011 RTV IV went for a tour
née round Australia (Gamble's birthplace) and New Zealand; while summer months are booked for a tour round Europe, Japan and USA.
